Our Date
Meemaw and Poompa ( Mike's Mom and Step Father) have spent the last four months in Florida and are on their way back up to New York. They decided to meet up with us in Florida so they could see us before going back. They took the girls for the night while Mike and I had a date.
The girls had fun visiting the Okeefanokee Swamp (they saw a Momma alligator and her baby), making s'mores and eating tacos. Meanwhile, Daddy and I ate out in Fernandina Beach, FL. If you have never been there it is a cute and quaint little town with lots of charm and old buildings. It was hard to decide where to eat but we finally settled on 29 South. I had shrimp and grits and Mike had Fried Chicken. What else would you have in the South? It's funny, we kind of don't know what to do with ourselves when we have time away from the kids. So after dinner we went back to the house and had ice cream and watched Walk The Line. In the morning we had a prayer walk on the beach before Carol and Dick arrived with the girls. I think we all had fun but we were glad when we were back together as a family:)

Funny you say that - last time I had a "date" with my bride we ended up running the 'errands" that we would normally make with kids in tow - all be it faster than with the kids - but yeah...we're a family first!

Yes, we are always tempted to do something like that too! Sometimes we find it hard to decide what to do:) The life of a parent:)
