Monday in China

Hi Everyone,
It is now Monday in China. Yesterday we went with our group to tour the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum. It was an incredibly beautiful building! They had art exhibited and shops inside but those of you who have small children know that there is no way they are going to really let you look anything! We did manage to buy Joelle a chop with her name in chinese carved into the stone. It is basically a piece of jade that they make into a stamp of her name.
Today, we went back to the clinic to have Joelle's TB test checked. Thankfully, it was negative. The rest of the day was free so we took a taxi to the Pearl Market and walked around. We bought Joelle some pearls to present to her when she turns eighteen. We also looked at a lot of Jade but did not purchase anything. The choices were way too confusing and communication was a challenge. I hope to go back with an interpreter.

  1. Wow. 18. That's thinking ahead! I guess the bigger 'wow' is what's happening in your lives today. It brings back so many memories. I know that it's an emotion-filled time with so many unknowns and so many possibilities. I am certain, however, that you will be a blessing to each other. We are praying for you and Joelle and Zoe. We can't wait to meet her...Eric
